Looking up we could see some peculiar shaped aircraft approaching. They turned out to be two Bell Boeing V-22 Ospreys!
These military tiltrotor aircraft have fixed wings yet can hover and land just like a normal helicopter.
Currently the US Air Force uses them to conduct ‘long-range infiltration, exfiltration and resupply missions’ for special forces operations.
These two had landed at HeliOperations on the Isle of Portland in Dorset to refuel whilst we were staying in Portland Marina so we grabbed a camera and ran over to get a closer look!

Check out our video and we can tell you one thing…the downforce from one of these things as it went over our heads was incredible! Please remember to give it a thumbs up if you like and don’t forget to subscribe 🙂
