Established way back in 1952 and still a family run business the Godshill Model Village is a wonderfully quintessential attraction on the Isle of Wight.
The model village is a 1/10th scale version of the village of Godshill and Shanklin Old Village and Chine. Homes, shops, churches, people…..all beautifully created out of sand and cement with an exceptional quality to detail. In fact there’s even a model of the model village!
The village is also home to attractive landscaped gardens, with over 3,000 ornamental conifers and shrubs, and there is a tea shop and gift shop on site.
We paid £4.95 per adult to get in, and the ticket is valid for 7 days. Our visit took around 1 hour, although if you do the family quiz sheet it may take you longer!
We took the number 2 bus from Newport to Godshill and afterwards caught the number 3 from Godshill for a scenic route down to Ventnor and then up to Shanklin where we visited Shanklin Chine.
