We took advantage of a Sun Holiday deal and spent three nights in the beautiful fishing village of Looe in Cornwall. Unfortunately it was a wet weekend but that didn’t stop us enjoying the sights!
We had paid £59 for three nights at Parkdean Resorts staying in a very basic caravan which had a gas fire that kept going out by itself . Definitely cheap and cheerful! However the location was great for exploring Looe and we also took the ferry over to Plymouth which is about 20 miles away. You can drive to Torpoint and get the toll ferry across the water, it cost £1.50 for a car and you only have to pay one way. Alternatively you can cross the Tamar Bridge at Saltash, again just £1.50 and payable just one way.
Looe itself is a very busy fishing port and is situated on both sides of the River Looe, joined together by a bridge across the river. The town is a popular destination due to its picturesque harbour and golden beaches.
